Typically pale golden and peated, today's Caol Ila remains true to its traditions. Not as pungent or heavy as some of its neighbours and remarkably fresh-tasting, it is yet deceptively intense on the finish. It has all the fresh sea-air aromas and smoky-dry spicy flavours of an expressive, appetising Islay malt.
