Founded in 1798 Dow's Port is one of the oldest Port firms and one of the very few that remains today a private family business. The firm's principal vineyard is the famous Quinta do Bomfim in the Pinhao area of the Alto Douro district. Every year some of the best young wines are put aside in pipes (oak casks) and destined for long ageing.

This Ten Years Old is such a wine, well balanced and mature. Made in the traditional Dow's drier style, it has an excellent full flavour.

It has long been the tradition at Dow's to select from its maturing stocks a series of particularly fine lots and blend them together to produce a really top quality Tawny Port. This blend, originally designed as the name suggests for everyday drinking by the Board of Directors, shows off admirably the famous house style.

Boardroom is silky smooth with delicate raisiny fruit flavours and a recognisable nutty character. Try it lightly chilled in warmer weather.

Dow's was the first Port Company to invest seriously in premium vineyards, acquiring the outstanding Quintas of Senhora da Ribeira and Bomfim in 1890 and 1896. Dow's is entirely owned and run today by the fourth generation of the Symington family who have been Port producers since 1882.

This is a rich and mature wine that has been aged in oak casks and has been bottled ready for immediate drinking. No decanting is required.
